March Birthday prayer
Our prayer for you is that because you call upon the Lord, your Savior and the Lifter of your head. He will show you His wonderful loving-kindness. He will save you by His right hand, (because you have put your trust in Him) from those that would rise up against you. The Lord will keep you as the apple of His eye and hide you under the shadow of His wings. Because you continually press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus, turning not to the left or right, but having your face set toward Jesus the author and finisher of your faith, He will bring you into that abundant entrance; restoring your health, and healing your wounds, and out of your mouth will proceed thanksgiving with the voice that makes merry. Then shall the Lord multiply you and you shall not be small. You shall be ready to do every good work, and learn to maintain good works that you will no longer be unfruitful. You will watch in all things, endure afflictions, and fight the good fight of faith, for a crown of righteousness has been laid up for you. The Lord upholds the righteous, He knows the days of the upright, and your inheritance shall be forever.
In the day when you called, He answered you, and He strengthened you with strength in your soul. Though you may walk in the midst of trouble, He will revive you, He shall stretch forth His hand against the wrath of your enemies, and His right hand will save you. The Lord will perfect that which concerns you, His mercy endures forever, for He will not forsake the work of His own hands. He is your God and you are His people.
Amen
What brings us to a place of true repentance and deliverance? Light does. The Scriptures say, “He that doeth the truth cometh to the light.” By light, Saul knew himself a blasphemer. Job said, “Now my eyes see you, wherefore, I abhor myself and repent.” It is in the Light of God that we see light. With the Light of God, we begin to see the truth about ourselves and true deliverance begins.
Many convictions we come to develop are negative. We do not always respond from a positive conviction that something is truly right, but that the opposite is wrong. Some are actually driven to a position by the enemy, rather than being led by the truth. Christians are most often defensive concerning what they believe, and are more like stubborn horses rather than obedient sheep.
My years in ministry, I have come to realize that many people will wait until you take a view or position and then take the opposite view. This is not coming to the knowledge of the truth within “the light of the glorious gospel.” In the days ahead, we must examine our faith and what it is that we truly believe. The enemy of all righteousness is coming against the church with such destruction and vengeance that the only thing that will stop him is light and truth. We will take our position in the Word and we will allow the Holy Spirit to lead us into all the truth, while we walk in the light as He is in the light. In the true light of God, the anointing of the Holy Spirit will destroy the enemy’s deception and lies and we will see clearly how to walk upright before God and man. Victory is ours in area of life if we remain in light and truth…Amen.
The Apostle Paul said in Philippians 4:11 that he was not speaking out of want. He said, “For I have learned how to be content (satisfied to the point where I am not disturbed or disquieted) in whatever state I am.” Paul’s use of the words “I have learned” shows that contentment was something he did not have prior to learning. Learning requires proper hearing in order to learn well. To learn means to gain knowledge and comprehension through experience or study. Paul was one to learn quickly, he gained knowledge so that no matter what life’s situations were…he would not be disturbed. Paul knew that knowledge was a prerequisite to performance.
The word learn here is not one of merely gaining knowledge of something, but one where you so learn someone (such as Jesus) that the knowledge learned changes you. We are not simply learning about Christ. We are applying the knowledge to our heart so that we walk out life differently. This kind of learning will stop the enemy of my soul and produce all things for me that pertain to life and godliness.
The word content means to be sufficient, to be possessed with sufficient strength, to be strong, and to be enough for any situation, hence to ward-off anything attacking. If God’s people will learn Christ and will apply the knowledge gained from Him, then it will create tremendous difference leading to transformation. Learning to be content as Paul did is part of the character building the Holy Spirit desires for us. If we, like Paul, learn Christ and learn to be content, then we too can say, “I am possessed of sufficient strength and through the abiding life of Christ, I am enough for any situation.” The aggravations of the day will not cause us to be disquieted or disturbed. And with that, I say…Amen.
The Scriptures give many examples of God requesting us to hear Him. “Hearken to My voice…Give ear to Me…Incline your ear to Me…are just some of the examples. Listening to God’s voice is the assurance that He will listen to mine. My willingness to accept His words will determine the power my words will have with Him.
Whatever God’s words are to me
is the test of what He is to me.
In John we read, “If you abide in me and My words abide in you, then you may ask anything in My Name and I will give it to you.” He didn’t say if you abide in Me and I in you…He said, you abide in Me and My words abide in you…the abiding of His words is the equivalent of Himself abiding. This reveals the place the words of God are to have in us especially in prayer.
What a man says is what reveals him to others. Words have spirit in them.
He either binds people to him with his words or drives them away. We actually impart ourselves to others through our words. The words that God speaks contain His life, truth, power, and spirit in the deepest meaning of the words. Through His words, He releases His love, His life, His will, and His light, to all who receive what He says. In every command, we find His promises, and holiness, because His word gives us Himself. Through God’s words, we can know His thoughts, His feelings, and His mind. Everything then, depends on our being able to hear Him through the speaking of His word.
Let us hearken, incline, and give ear to the voice of His word in order that His will in heaven may be done on earth…Amen.
February Birthday Prayer
Our prayer for you is that because you desire to walk before the Lord in truth and with a perfect heart, and you do that which is good in His sight, He walks with you in the land of the living. He will make your crooked places straight and your rough places plain. He has revealed His glory unto you and it will stand forever. The Lord will never make you ashamed. He has created in you a new heart, and He has called you by your name and has given you a new song to sing. Because He has called you unto righteousness, He will hold your hand and keep you that you may be a light to a lost and dying world.
The Father has made you the head and not the tail, so, stand fast therefore in Jesus, abounding in love, having the mind of Christ. As you are pressing towards the prize of the high calling, making your election sure, you will be fruitful in the knowledge of Jesus, walking in the light, doing always those things that please the Father.
So, unto Him who is able to do exceeding, abundantly above all that you ask or think according to the power that works in you, He has given Christ to dwell in your heart by faith. You, being rooted and grounded in love will be able to comprehend what is the breadth and length, and the depth and the height, and know the love of Christ which passes all knowledge. We pray that you will be filled with all the fullness of God, giving glory to Christ Jesus, and this, throughout all the ages worlds without end. Amen.
