Part 1
There are so many exciting things that we are hearing today. The airwaves bring all sorts of information to us, and we have the opportunity to process what we hear and gain results from it. In the world of religion, there is so much to hear that you literally have to choose to what you will lend your ear. Not everything that we hear is profitable to us for success. Peter told his readers that it was his desire to stir up their pure minds to remembrance. This is my goal today, to stir up your pure minds unto remembrance. We learned that Paul called Jesus the last Adam, and the second man. There are reasons why he did that, so we want to look at that today. In the last Adam, God gathered all of humanity. Then in the second man, we find that He brought resurrection and life instead of death. As a result, it is possible for us to be completely free from whatever binds us, and walk out our life in true reality.
We understand now the work of the blood and the work of the cross. The blood cannot take us out of the first Adam, because we were born altogether in sin. Therefore, we must be born again, born after another fashion, not by the will of a man, but by the will of God. The blood corrects the sins that we committed, but the cross is the agent that God uses to correct the sinner. We cannot continue to apply the blood over the mess we make; we need the cross to help us correct what we are (of the first Adam) and the way we do things. If we permit the work of the cross in our lives, the blood of Christ (the last Adam) will be our protector, and it will provide for us a freedom to walk in this life without the gates of hell prevailing against us.
