MEET THE PASTORS

  • Reverend Linda Adkins has been faithfully serving in ministry for over 45 years and has led Words of Light Church for more than four decades. Alongside her high school sweetheart and husband, Howard, she helped found the church, guiding it from a small home mission to a thriving and rapidly growing ministry in Jacksonville, Florida.

    Linda’s preaching is rooted in practicality and spiritual transformation. Her message? “Get yourself off your hands” — a powerful call to live out the principles of the Kingdom of God with active, engaged faith. Her mentorship extends far beyond Sunday services, shaping the lives of emerging leaders and fellow ministers.

    She’s also an author and songwriter. Her book, “The Character of Diamonds in a World of Glass,” has inspired many, and her teachings have been turned into songs by various artists — including her own contributions to the ministry's music.

    Reverend Linda and Howard have been married for 62 years and are proud parents of three children, grandparents to seven, and great-grandparents to thirteen.

    Start your Sunday with rich biblical teaching and meaningful discussion. Karol Lowery leads this adult class with wisdom and warmth, helping you apply God’s Word to everyday life. Whether you're new to the Bible or looking to deepen your faith, this class offers valuable insight in a supportive setting.
