The woman who walked it

Rev. Linda L. Adkins is the founding Senior Pastor of Words of Light Church, an Assemblies of God congregation in Jacksonville. She was born a stutterer — and called to preach. She and her husband Howard planted the church in 1982 and led it together for more than four decades.

She writes out of more than forty-five years in ministry, and she is not writing at you. Howard kept a four-wheel drive and a chain for the neighbors who slid off that dirt road, and he must have pulled a hundred cars back up onto it. This book knocks on the door, hooks the chain, and pulls.
