“Kept by His Word” Part 2

Jacob (Israel) heard there was corn in Egypt and God spared them through Joseph. Let us become an Elijah or a Joseph to someone during these economically hard times. As the widow became willing to share with Elijah, she found herself with enough during the entire three years of famine. God is faithful to those who are obedient to Him.

In Elisha’s time, food was so scarce that the people brought all they had and put it together into one pot so there was enough for everyone. We have not faced such times as these but if we ever do, we see in the Scripture how the Lord would have us behave. It is in every one of us to share what we have because we are givers, and because the love of God is within us.

We too find ourselves in very difficult times, and they may not soon be over but nothing is too difficult for our God. We serve and are obedient to an Almighty God. If we follow His instructions, then we will find our way clear and He will provide for our every need. We will settle our heart by keeping our mind on Him. If you find yourself getting anxious about anything, go outside and look at the Lord’s handiwork. Looking at nature has a very calming effect.

Focus on all the green that is around you, sit beside water, watch little birds because they have no financial cares, and consider the lilies as Jesus said. You will find yourself peaceful and calm. The famine may not go away or change, but you will
